INDIVENIRE (in progress) is a photographic research project.

Photographing the construction of a building follows a tempo similar to that of a musical score.
There are different compositions, transitional moments and rhythms that converge into a harmonious performance.
Recording the building process is a unique act as it captures a moment in time that will never repeat itself.
It allows one to lift up the curtains, revealing unseen parts of a space’s soul.
Depicting architecture in this unfinished condition offers the possibility to further extend and investigate the visual narrative when documenting a space.

Through the exploration of fragility and solidity, uniqueness and repetition, custom and standard, these photographs examine architecture in its most vulnerable state.
Materials and elements which are normally layered or concealed rise to prominence, while the different phases of construction and demolition are equalised and merged by their similar materiality.
The revelation of these concealed moments expresses a vigorous energy and sets the tone for an architectural score.

INDIVENIRE aims to collect and present a perspective on how images can construct space.
The act of framing an instant in time, which is the core of photography itself, contrasts with architecture’s intrinsic qualities of stillness, permanence and immutability.

Photographs of an unfinished ceiling, a broken wall, a supported roof or a free standing façade create an element of friction and become relevant documents to record the built environment.
